At Kalaurie, every garment is made-to-order. For this reason, it’s advised that you book a consultation with the designer to ensure you achieve the desired fit, which depends largely on your individual style.
Your sizing consultation can be done via email or in person at Kalaurie’s Melbourne-based atelier, depending on your preference and location.
Things to keep in mind with sizing
- The sizing of your garment may vary depending on its fabric, cut, and silhouette.
- Sizes that feature 1cm to 2cm difference against your body’s measurements may still suit, depending on your desired fit.
- Not all measurements are relevant for all garments, for example, a bust measurement is only necessary for a loose-fitted shirt.
Custom sizing at Kalaurie
Kalaurie is happy to customise her sizing to suit your needs. To request custom sizing, email us your measurements in centimeters along with details of the garment you’re interested in.
Note that custom sizing may not be available for all garments.
How to take your own measurements
- Wear your undergarments or tight-fitted intimates.
- Stand in a relaxed position upright.
- Use a soft measuring tape or tailor’s tape.
- As you measure, keep the tape level all around your body, parallel to the floor.
- If you prefer a looser fit, stick a finger or two inside the measuring tape to avoid ordering garments too fitted for your liking.
How to take your bust measurement
Place the measuring tape under your arms and measure the fullest part of your bust.
How to take your waist measurement
Place the measuring take around the narrowest part of your natural waist. This is usually just above your belly button.
How to take your hip measurement
With your feet together measure the fullest part of your hips. This is usually a low hip measurement which includes the fullness of your butt.
